About the piece
“The Tree of Life” (2020) is a short choral work based on the text in Revelation 22:1-2, the vision of the clear waters of the river of the water of life and the tree of life, providing fruit each month for the healing of the nations. The piece explores the imagery with a luminous and contemplative yet dramatic choral sound, allowing the text to shape the music.
The piece was commissioned by Ängeholm Vocal Ensemble and the Church of Sweden.
